Treasurer wrong on Land Tax

The Government spent the better part of the last six months arguing that not only could Land Tax never be abolished, but it couldn’t be changed at all until after the Henry Tax Review.

We have been the only Party that has consistently been calling for Land Tax to be reduced and eventually phased out all together. That remains our position and we will show Tasmanians how we intend to abolish Land Tax next year.

Our policy will show that there is a clear difference between Labor, where Land Tax will continue to be a problem, and the Liberals, who will over time remove the burden of Land Tax from Tasmanians once and for all.

This is another area where Tasmanians will see that only the Liberals are offering real change. Under Labor nothing will change.
