Peter Gutwein MP
Shadow Minister for Energy

Bartlett must talk to Wong on Musselroe

Musselroe wind farm, the second biggest planned building project in Tasmania, is likely to fall over because David Bartlett is too weak to take on Federal Climate Change Minister, Penny Wong, about her renewable energy policy.

Penny Wong needs to take action immediately to allow wind farm developments to proceed in Tasmania and Australia.

David Bartlett is due to meet Penny Wong today. This is a test of his leadership and his commitment to our renewable energy sector.

Will he demand that she fixes the massive problems that are strangling Musselroe wind farm? If he won’t talk to Penny Wong about it, or can’t get her to commit to fixing the problem, then it shows how weak and ineffective he is.

Minister Wong should use her time in Tasmania today to talk to the proponents of the Musselroe wind farm to see what can be done to make sure this project goes ahead.
