Chamber happy to facilitate debate
I am disappointed that the Treasurer, Michael Aird, has so far refused an invitation to discuss economic and financial policy with the Tasmanian people.
Tasmanians are genuinely interested in what Mr Aird has to say and for the Treasurer to refuse to outline his plans for the future of the Tasmanian economy is not only disrespectful to Tasmanians, it’s cowardly.
We have approached the Launceston Chamber of Commerce and Industry and asked them to facilitate a debate. I am pleased to say that the Chamber sees the merit in having a debate between the two people who would oversee the Tasmanian economy for the next four years.
So, once again I extend an invitation to Michael Aird to debate economic and financial policy with me so that Tasmanians will be able to judge for themselves who they would prefer to have leading the Tasmanian economy.
