Booth Now Trusts the Labor Party!
The one Green that Tasmanians believed still had some integrity, Kim Booth, has today been sold a pup by his Green colleagues and his Labor coalition partners.
Extraordinarily, the Greens have today voted against our motion to establish a Select Committee to allow Aurora directors and executives to give their version of events surrounding the Labor-Green Government's broken five percent price guarantee.
In the past, the Greens would have been tripping over themselves to support such an inquiry.
Today they voted against it, and instead supported an inquiry without any guarantees whatsoever from Labor that legislation would even be introduced, the powers of this inquiry, its timeframe, or whether or not it can even compel witnesses and papers.
We welcome the involvement of the Auditor-General. However it is not his role to inquire into whether or not the Treasurer has willfully misled the Parliament.
We all know that Mr McKim and Ms O'Connor have sold their principles for the perks of power.
It seems that the principles of Mr Booth were part of the deal.
