Government's Economic Mismanagement Evident in New Survey

Today's NAB Business Confidence Survey shows that under the Labor-Green Government, business is going backwards.

The Survey shows that we were the only State to have a negative index for the three months to June 2010 and we are the only State without a single business surveyed expecting to employ additional staff in the coming three months.

The Labor-Green Government has already said that Tasmanians may move interstate over the next 12 months to find work, especially once the federal stimulus money runs out. We already know that private investment in Tasmania has plummeted this year and now we see that none of the Tasmanian businesses surveyed are even considering employing additional staff.

This is what happens when you have a Labor-Green Government creating uncertainty in the Tasmanian community and economy. It also highlights the fact that the Labor-Green Government has no economic development strategy, no industry strategy and no jobs strategy.

The Labor-Green Government is failing the Tasmanian community and economy and the proof of that is in today's NAB Survey.
