Real Change supporting tourism in the North-East

A Hodgman Majority Liberal Government will provide $100,000 for a feasibility study to be conducted by the Department of Economic Development on the benefits the North-East community and the viability of attracting an international golf event to the Barnbougle Dunes golf course at Bridport.

In its short life, the Barnbougle Dunes course has developed a sound reputation as a world-class links course, attracting international attention and golfers.

The potential spin-off benefits of having a major tournament in the North-East to the local community would be significant, but it is important that both the feasibility and viability of this is properly assessed.

Part of the assessment will be the number of people such an event would be likely to attract and the benefits and local jobs that could flow into the local economy.
