Real change for Netball

A Hodgman Liberal Government will provide $700,000 over three years to support netball in Tasmania.

This financial backing will support Netball Tasmania in expanding its successful sport development program.

The funding includes a three year commitment of $200,000 a year as well as $100,000 to conduct a feasibility study and develop a business plan to support the proposed $7M redevelopment of the Hoblers Bridge Netball Centre.

Netball is an enormously popular sport, with a growing participation rate in Tasmania.

It is important that netball has a reliable source of funding to continue sports development and the promotion of the sport, at junior and premier level.

A Hodgman Liberal Government has committed to a range of policies which to support sport across Tasmania, and to increase participation by Tasmanians of all ages, to encourage a more active lifestyle and the social networks that sport offers.

This funding will enable Netball Tasmania to continue its work to develop the sport, especially in regional areas, and encourage more people to take part.
