Coalition's new deal for forest industry welcome

Thursday 15 August 2013

I welcome the strong support shown by Tony Abbott today to Tasmania’s forest industry and his commitment to no more lock ups.

The Coalition’s Economic Growth Plan for Tasmania includes seeking to have Labor’s rushed World Heritage extension removed, establishing a 20 year rolling Regional Forest Agreement and providing resource security and a stable investment environment to the forest industry.

The Coalition’s Plan is in sharp contrast to Labor’s dirty political deal with the Greens to shut down our forest industry.
