The Hodgman Liberal Government welcomes the positive Sensis Business Index March 2018 quarter results showing Tasmania’s small and medium sized businesses (SMB) are the most confident in the nation.
The Index shows Tasmanian SMBs support for the Hodgman Liberal Government’s policies lifted six points to +19, making it the most popular government according to SMBs in Australia.
The report stated;
“Key indicator balances for last quarter were the best in the nation and good results are expected in this quarter. The Tasmanian Government became even more popular, appealing to SMBs more than any other state and territory government.”

Tasmanian SMBs confidence levels lead the nation at +54 index points, equal with the ACT. Tasmania’s SMBs are also the most confident about the direction of the economy with the index sitting at +24 points.
The Index also showed the balances of Tasmania’s key economic performance indicators were the highest in the national with improvements in sales, employment, prices and profitability.
Today’s data follows on from the recent NAB Monthly Business Survey which reported on Tasmania’s positive economic direction and showed business confidence and conditions led the nation.
The Hodgman Liberal Government’s long-term Plan is about ensuring the right economic framework is in place to assist business to create local jobs.
